The Sunday Six: what’s relevant and Chic this week
15th March 2026
The Sunday Six is our weekly edit of what feels relevant, chic or quietly useful. Each week Charlotte or Ginny will share objects, habits and small upgrades that feel worth your attention before Monday arrives.
The Sunday Six on Building The Moodboard
I turned 40 five days ago and I have thoughts. The kind that come from finally understanding what actually makes you feel good rather than what your social media cookies insist you need.
This weeks Sunday Six has a feel good wellness theme. Here are six things I am telling my friends to buy as a 40 year old.
1. A face cream that means business
If you’re going to invest in one thing, make it your moisturiser.
Augustinus Bader’s The Rich Cream is expensive but it’s consistently one of the best selling premium creams in the world for a reason. It gives that rested, hydrated and even slightly lit from within finish.
If that feels indulgent, La Roche Posay’s Toleriane range is brilliant and more accessible. At 40, I’m less interested in ten steps and more interested in one that works.
2. Under eye brightening done properly
Touche Éclat is still iconic because it does exactly what it says. It doesn’t conceal everything. It lifts.
The trick is placement, brush a small amount into the inner corner of your under eye and slightly down into the hollow. Blend with a small brush rather than your finger. It keeps it precise and avoids that creased half moon situation by 3pm.
Bright eyes change your whole face. Especially after a late night or interrupted sleep.
3. Charlotte Tilbury Setting Spray
The Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray actually makes makeup look like skin rather than makeup. It locks everything together and buys you hours before anything starts sliding.
For long work days that turn into dinner, it’s quietly heroic.
4. The blazer that pulls it all together
There is one piece in my wardrobe that quietly does more work than anything else. A proper blazer. The kind that sharpens everything you put it over without feeling try hard.
For me, it is the Daphne blazer from Aligne. I now own it in four colours, which tells you everything. The cut is structured through the shoulder and it is perfect to dress up or down.
I tend to reach for the black with denim or the white with black buttons the most often.
My test for any blazer is simple. Put it on with a basic tee and wide leg trousers. If you instinctively stand a little taller, if the whole outfit suddenly feels intentional, that is the one.
At 40, I am far more interested in timeless pieces that elevate your whole outfit as soon as you put them on. The Daphne does exactly that. It makes the simple look styled and the everyday feel pulled together, without having to overthink it.
A light face tan is cheaper than most facials and on busy weeks, sometimes more transformative.
I use The H.A+ Deep Moisture Face Tan with Niacinamide from Vita Liberata. It is less about colour and more about condition. The formula is packed with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, so you get hydration and a smoother looking finish alongside the glow.
I apply it at night to clean skin in place of my usual moisturiser. One layer gives that believable, slept eight hours energy. A second application the following evening deepens it slightly without tipping into obvious tan.
It is not about looking darker. It is about looking rested and a bit more alive. The kind of quiet polish that makes you skip foundation the next morning.
6. A body brush
This feels very Gwyn to share, but hear me out.
Dry brushing before a shower takes two minutes and makes you feel like you’ve done something vaguely virtuous before 7am. I like this Aromatherapy Associates one best, mainly for it’s aesthetic light wood finish. Skin looks smoother, cellulite reduces, circulation improves and it also forces you to slow down for a moment.
I hope this milestone Sunday Six felt useful. As usual, some things to add to basket, some things to add to life and if you’d like it in your inbox next week sign up to our newsletter.
See you on the 29th.
